iNaturalist users of Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and the West of England – help put the Western Forest on the map!
The Western Forest is a new national forest for England across Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and the West of England. Over the next 30 years, the Western Forest will focus on priority areas where trees and woodlands can deliver the greatest benefits for nature, climate and people.
The goals of the Western Forest are to support wildlife and biodiversity, improve access to nature, strengthen local economies and enhance the environment for future generations. It will support over 2.5 million people and plant at least 2,500 hectares of woodland and tree habitats.
Get involved
Are you an iNaturalist user, and do you visit these priority areas? If so, you can help build vital knowledge to support the creation and future of the Western Forest by recording the trees, plants and wildlife that make this area unique. Your observations can help support nature recovery and shape a greener, more resilient landscape.
