New “Walk This Water Way” survey from the Mammal Society

Do you want your walk to contribute to citizen science and wildlife conservation?

The Mammal Society is requesting people to download their free Mammal Mapper app and then to walk 600m plus, along a local waterway recording any mammals (or signs of mammals – footprints, droppings etc) that they see.

They are particularly interested in five key species:

  •  European otter
  •  American mink
  •  Water vole
  •  Eurasian beaver
  •  Brown rat

More information about this citizen science initiative is available on the Mammal Society website.
