Grant of up to £20,000 Available for River Restoration Projects (London)

Community groups and small charities in Greater London can now apply for grants of up to £20,000 to support volunteer-led river restoration projects and water quality monitoring initiatives. Eligible projects include small-scale river restoration activities such as creating berms, adding large wood habitats, removing toe-boards, and managing invasive species.

Additionally, the grant supports water quality monitoring efforts, enabling citizen scientists to gather crucial data to identify pollution sources and inform remediation strategies.

The funding is being made available through the Thames21 EMPOWER Rivers Community Grant. The deadline for applications in this round of the grant is 10am on 2 June 2025.
