Following the arrival of our new Trustees in November, we sadly had to say goodbye to several Trustees who had been with us since 2018, and we did so at our 29 February Board meeting.
Those who left us were: Wilma Harper, Neil Hodges, Belinda Howell and Matt Postles. We also said goodbye to Roddy Fairley who had been a Trustee since 2012, giving many years of service as a Trustee and latterly as our Treasurer. David Slawson, who joined the Board in 2021, also stepped down as a Trustee at the end of February.
I would like to thank all the outgoing Trustees for their exceptional commitment to the NBN Trust. I joined the team in 2021 – as a first-time CEO – and I have benefited immeasurably from the Board’s sound advice, diligence and guidance. It was an absolute pleasure working alongside each of the outgoing Trustees, and I’m going to miss them all.
I would like to give a special mention to Neil Hodges, who was our Chair for six years, and who dedicated a huge amount of time and expertise to working with me. The Trust has grown, evolved and overcome many challenges under his leadership.
We are delighted that Pete Tomlin has agreed to take the reins as Interim Chair during this transitional period. We intend to commence recruitment again in 6-12 months’ time.
On behalf of the NBN Trust, I would like to thank each of our outgoing Trustees. I wish you all the very best in the future and hope that you will stay in touch. I now look forward to working with our current and new Trustees and for the help and advice that I know they will give to me and the rest of the team in the coming years.
