CJS Focus on the Next Generation

CJS Focus on the Next Generation is now available and published in association with Action for Conservation.  Action for Conservation provides the lead article about its work to empower young people from all backgrounds to become the next generation of environmental leaders.

The 31 pages of the publication are all aimed at highlighting ways to get school age children involved in nature conservation and the importance of doing so.

The 15 articles feature:

  • 14 year old Kabir Kaul and 15 year old Michael Sinclair – rising stars in the conservation world.  Michael Sinclair was this year’s NBN Young Person’s Award Winner for Wildlife Recording
  • The newly launched Nature Friendly Schools project led by The Wildlife Trusts.
  • John Muir Trust’s, John Muir Award encouraging outdoor activity.
  • Backyard Nature – a campaign from Semble to get children across the UK spending a million more hours in nature.
  • Young Placechangers programme from greenspace scotland.
  • Our Bright Future – bringing together the youth and environmental sectors.
  • The Let’s Learn Moor initiative from BASC, which aims to educate the people living in the uplands.
  • Rewilding Sussex wants to rewild young people.
  • Wildwise – using popular fiction to encourage teens to engage with the natural world.

This edition also carries adverts for organisations, resources, training and events, products and services to enable all of us to encourage the next generation to get involved in nature conservation and understand the importance of doing so.
