The Royal Institution has announced that its Science in Schools scheme reopened on 1 May. The programme provides free visits from professional presenters valued at £800 to state-funded primary or secondary schools in the UK to enhance science education for Key Stage 1-3 children. It also fulfills teachers’ CPD requirements and engages families in science education. Participating schools may also raise funds through after-school or evening community shows. The programme is supported by several foundations, including the Gillespie Endowment, Bain Capital, The Kusuma Trust, Clothworkers’ Foundation, and the JS Cohen Foundation.
