The Scottish Biodiversity Information Forum (SBIF) launched their new publication Making the Most of Biodiversity Data at their Spring Conference on the 16th April 2015 at the Battleby Conference Centre, Perth. The booklet contains a collection of case studies that illustrate and promote the use of biodiversity data by researchers and policy-makers, and its publication contributes to the Forum’s Action Plan.
Formed in 2012, the Forum’s aim is to benefit biodiversity by improving the flow of biodiversity data between organisations and individuals that collect data, and users of that data, such that decision-making is better informed.
The Chair of the Forum, Craig Macadam, said “The report that SBIF is launching today is testament to how important Biodiversity Data is to us all. Making the Most of Biodiversity Data documents case studies where the availability of biodiversity data is making a difference to our understanding and decision-making on land and at sea.”
