Honorary membership of NBN Trust

John Newbould may be known to many of you, through his work at the Yorkshire Naturalists’ Union (YNU), the National Federation for Biological Recording (NFBR) and, more recently, in his new adopted home county of Dorset.

Even in a county as well endowed with skilled naturalists as Dorset, John soon fitted into key roles. John is always dependable, he is normally unflappable, demonstrates consistent enthusiasm and brings a wealth of practical experience and good sense. Without the contributions made by John, over many years, both the YNU and NFBR would not have flourished. In particular, he has been prepared to take on tedious administrative duties that are essential to the success of voluntary bodies. But he is also still an active field naturalist.

John is a prime example of the life-blood of the NBN – amateur naturalists that are committed to studying natural history, sharing their results and promoting enthusiasm in others.
