Volunteers and charity fund available through Experian

Many of you within the Network will have heard of Experian, but did you know that it has its operational headquarters in Nottingham, which is also home to the NBN Trust Secretariat?

Experian is a global leader in consumer and business credit reporting and marketing services and is a constituent of the UK’s FTSE 100 index.  This might not immediately seem too valid to the Network, but as it “unlocks the power of data to create opportunities for people, business and society”, the NBN Trust felt that there could be some common ground between our two organisations.

Through conversations with the team at Experian, we have found out about some opportunities, which we are sure will be of interest to the Network.

Volunteer help

All Experian staff are given three days per year to go out volunteering. The scope of this is huge and people get involved with all kinds of activities.

So, if you are looking for any help within your organisation, or you need a team to help with a piece of work you just can’t do on top of your day job, then these skilled volunteers may be just what you need.

You’ll need to fill out a fairly simple form, which you can do for as many projects as you have.  Once completed, all projects are advertised internally to Experian employees. If someone applies, you will receive an email informing you of this, so you can liaise with them directly regarding the opportunity.

Charity Fund

Experian also has a charity fund where you can apply for up to £5,000.  Please email for more information and an application form if this is of interest.

On behalf of the NBN Trust, we hope these initiatives provide fruitful opportunities for you.
