As registered users will be aware, the NBN Forum had started to receive an increasing amount of SPAM posts over the course of the last six months. Administrators could remove these manually, but the regularity of the posts was understandably frustrating users.
Mike Weideli, known to many of you for his work on Recorder, has helped the NBN Trust to create a system whereby all new registrations are no longer automatic and instead have to be approved before they can access and post to the Forum. This means non-genuine users can be declined access.
We hope this won't be too much of an inconvenience for genuine users who are not able to post straightaway, but as it should be no more than 24 hours until their registration has been reviewed and approved, we hope everyone will benefit. Certainly, this is working well so far and has eliminated SPAM in the first few weeks of its implementation.
