NBN Conference – get involved!

We have two different ways for you to get involved at this year’s NBN Conference, which are detailed below.

Showcase a project

Would you like to showcase one of your projects or let others know about a new and exciting initiative?

For this year’s NBN Conference we are seeking expressions of interest from NBN Trust members who would like to highlight their work in a short video.

What’s required?

As the event is online there isn’t the usual opportunity for members to have displays or poster boards during the lunch and coffee breaks, so we are hoping to deliver a similar virtual experience.

We are interested in compiling a series of two minute videos to be shown during the lunch break, which will allow members to highlight their work.

If you are keen to get involved, please email Mandy with the following information by 15 September:

  • Organisation name (NBN Trust members will be given priority)
  • Your name
  • Project name
  • Project overview (no more than 100 words)

We are looking for five different, two minute videos, so will make our selection on a first come, first served basis. Please note that you will not be expected to give a presentation on the day as the video will need to be pre-recorded.

Calling for students!

Are you carrying out research that is reliant on biodiversity data?  Do you want to spread the word about  a particular project that is using data in a new or innovative way? Would you like the opportunity to engage with 200 like-minded conservationists?

If so, there is an opportunity for two students to give a five minute speed talk at this year’s NBN Conference.  The theme is “Biodiversity data – from collection to use” and the proposed talk will need to fit within that theme.

If you are keen to get involved, please email Mandy with the following information by 27 September:

  • Your name
  • University
  • Course title
  • Talk title
  • Talk abstract (no more than 100 words)

We look forward to hearing from you!
