Advice for Consultants on sharing data
The London and South-East Local Record Centre Forum has recently written guidance for environmental consultants on sharing data. The web-based resource sets out the importance of consultancy data to informing decision-making through Local Environmental Records Centre partnerships and the National Biodiversity Network, along with practical advice on topics such as data ownership and formats. The resource also includes case studies that outline how some LERCs and their partners are already routinely accessing consultants’ data.
The webpages are currently hosted on GiGL’s website and aim to provide a starting point that more Local Environmental Records Centres, consultants, the NBN and other stakeholders can contribute to and develop over time.
Financial support for the development of this website was provided by the NBN as part of a Defra-funded project to help Local Record Centres to deliver training and information to data providers.
