As the largest funder for the UK’s heritage, the Heritage Fund’s vision is for heritage to be valued, cared for and sustained for everyone, now and in the future. It sets out its vision in the new 10 year strategy, Heritage 2033.
Over the next 10 years, it aims to invest £3.6 billion raised for good causes by National Lottery players to make a decisive difference for people, places and communities.
In summer 2022, over 4,000 stakeholders and members of the public shared their views on heritage and the Heritage Fund’s future direction. This powerful feedback, combined with the Heritage Fund’s own experience, has shaped its new approach.
Support for the UK’s heritage will be strengthened and focus on using four principles that will underpin investment:
- saving heritage
- protecting the environment
- inclusion, access and participation
- organisational sustainability
These principles will be used to create a more flexible framework to guide the funding.
The detail of how this 10-year strategy will be delivered will be published through a series of three-year delivery plans.
You can read more about the strategy and download the document on the Heritage Fund’s website.
