Google website rankings for mobile friendly sites

A few months ago Google announced that they would be changing the way they ranked their search results on mobile phones. These changes have now come into effect.

What does this mean for you?

Websites that Google does not deem to be “mobile friendly” will be dropped down the search results. If your site is not mobile friendly you could find your website disappearing from the first page of Google's search results, which could mean losing out on business or not reaching the people you want to. Some research says that as much as 80% of local based searches are carried out on mobile phones.

What should you do?

The first thing to do is to check whether Google thinks your website is mobile friendly or not. Enter your website address into their mobile friendly website checker  It will run a quick test and then give your site a report. The report will tell you if your website passes Google's test or not! If your site is not mobile friendly then you may want to consider having the necessary changes made.

Please pass this message on so that as many people as possible are aware of this important change.

As you can see the current NBN website is not mobile friendly…
