The Natural History Museum (NHM) is asking for your help to record spiders during Fat Spider Fortnight (6-19 September).
Anyone can take part and all it takes is a few minutes to look for spiders in your home or outside. Pay attention to quiet corners, cracks and hard surfaces where spiders might shelter or build their web.
Once you’ve found a spider, make your observation by taking a picture on your phone and uploading it using the free iNaturalist app.
There are 11 spider species that the NHM are particularly interested in, but you can photograph and record whichever type of spider you find. Your input will help build our understanding of how different spider populations are faring in the UK.
