Applied Ecology Resources (AER), a new initiative from the British Ecological Society, is a new dynamic repository allowing information on ecological management and environmental resources to be found in one place. The full searchable database will launch later this year and all information on AER will be free to access. Organisations who become AER Founding Members can access benefits including archiving their literature and advertising events, helping to share information more widely, improving best practice and increasing their scientific profile.
At the centre of Applied Ecology Resources is a new open access peer-reviewed journal, Ecological Solutions and Evidence. Bridging the gap between research and practice, the inaugural issue published in July features a mix of articles from both academics and ecological practitioners on topics including predicting roadside biodiversity and creating a successful private nature reserve.
Ecological Solutions and Evidence is completely free to access. Articles are published online soon after they are accepted and a second issue will be published later this year in November.
