The 24 recommendations seek to resolve the long-standing issues around the flow of biological records from those who collect them to all who may use them.

The recommendations are designed to achieve the following five outcomes with numerous benefits.

Transform data flows

Developing clear data flows to a central data repository, with easy data submission and feedback on use

Transformed service provision

Creating full coverage for services across Scotland and an online Digital First approach

Transformed governance and culture

Establishing a Lead Governance Body working in partnership through a network of National and Regional Hubs

Transformed funding

Securing funding in perpetuity for Lead Governance Body, Super Partner and community activities

Transition by 2025

Developing a shared implementation plan to maintain the momentum of the SBIF Review
