The NBN Secretariat team will be expanding over the coming months so that we can increase the pace of delivery of our programme of work. This is driven by the development of a new Strategy and Action Plan that sets out a range of activity needed to achieve our new vision.
We have just advertised for a new part-time position of Communications Officer to work with Mandy Henshall in implementing the new communications strategy. Mandy will become the NBN’s Senior Communications Officer.
During the summer we will be employing Elizabeth Arnold as a summer student apprenticeship with the Network. Elizabeth was one of the eight students that were sponsored to attend the NBN conference in 2014. She will take on a number of roles supporting the Network as we set about implementing the new NBN strategy.
We have also employed Ella Vogel for the next 6 months. This is a part-time role working alongside CIEEM and in conjunction with ecological consultants across the UK to train people in the use of the Consultants Portal and increase biological data sharing by consultants (www.consultantsportal.uk). The intention is to formally launch this platform in September 2015.
