Salary: £32,062 – £36,363 Per annum (permanent)

Join LERN as Environment Officer to provide essential support to Lancashire’s Local Environmental Record Centre (the Lancashire Environment Record Network – LERN) and help protect and enhance Lancashire’s natural environment.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to join a team of experienced ecologists supporting data and information management requirements of strategic projects such as the Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) and Biological Heritage Sites (BHS) system.

As the Environment Officer for LERN, you will:  

  • Provide technical support to LERN including environmental record data management, entry, and quality assurance and delivery of data request services.
  • Maintain, enhance, and develop LERN databases and associated Geographical Information system (GIS) including sourcing, cleaning and importing species data and updating habitats and designated sites data.
  • Provide technical assistance, information and routine advice to the ecology team and data users as required.
