DECIDE aims to encourage more recording from places that need it most. To do this, UKCEH and partners have developed a web-based Tool which highlights areas that are of greatest priority for more recording of butterflies and moths (day- and night-flying). The maps show where new records will have most influence on improving species distribution models for these groups.
The DECIDE Tool has had a comprehensive upgrade and is ready to be tried and tested over the coming months. Take a look and let us know what you think by filling in our feedback form. Feedback from users in the recording community was invaluable during 2021 in shaping the design of the Tool; in 2022 we are now particularly interested in evaluating how it is used and what further improvements we could make. All comments and suggestions are important as the DECIDE Tool continues to be updated during this NERC-funded project.
