A day at the zoo with a difference

Join expert tutors for a new programme of exciting introductory days, held at Edinburgh Zoo.

2017 sees the first courses in a new partnership between Field Studies Council (FSC) and the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS).

Choose to learn about something completely different with days looking into the watery world of reptiles and amphibians, finding out about the amazing variety of ferns or learning how our pollinators are faring. The days are a great way to be introduced to new plants and animals or to discover more about something you know a little about.

Sue Townsend, Biodiversity Learning Manager at FSC explains “This partnership was developed so that we could offer courses in an urban area, hopefully being more accessible to lots of people.  We are hoping to reach new people and introduce them to the natural world, as well as provide an opportunity to those who already have an interest. Edinburgh Zoo and RZSS is a fantastic partner to work with, and these new courses fit well in their current wide-ranging education programme.”

Each short course is led by an expert tutor and is just £40. The zoo grounds are fascinating to visit and can be easily combined with a trip to Edinburgh city centre.

Details of the programme can be found by clicking on the titles below, or by visiting the NBN events calendar.  Courses can be booked online via the RZSS website
