Natural Environment Research Council’s (NERC’s) Innovation Placements call (previously Innovation Internships) will open on 13th April and close on June 29th.
NERC is inviting researchers to apply for placements of up to six months based in business, policy and civil organisations. The researcher will be expected to spend between 80% and 100% of their time in their partner organisation’s premises, demonstrating how their partner can best make use of scientific knowledge and outputs, leading to longer term, self-sustaining activities for the host.
Applications should be in the NERC Innovation priority areas of: infrastructure; risk management; sustainable food production; environmental data; natural resources; and policy and government.
During the placement, the researcher will remain employed by their institution with NERC paying for direct salary costs plus NI and superannuation, travel and subsistence costs. The partner organisation is expected to cover the overhead costs of hosting the researcher.
NERC will also be identifying partner organisations that wish to host a Placement to carry out specific directed activities.
