We are delighted to have welcomed Lynn Heeley, Paul Gilbertson and Selvameena Dhandapani to the NBN team.
Lynn will be working alongside Graham French as a Technical Liaison Officer. Lynn’s role is to provide technical assistance, support and guidance to prospective and current data providers and providing face to face assistance as required. She will also be responsible for uploading datsets to the Gateway.
Paul is a new Gateway developer and has the important role of helping to shape the face of the Gateway in the future.
Selvameena is the OPAL web developer. She will provide technical development to the Gateway in support of the BIG Lottery Fund project to create an OPen Air Laboratories (OPAL) network. The purpose of the job is to develop web-based databases and applications, focusing on geographic data on habitats and species.

We must also report on Oliver Grafton’s, our Data Access Officer for the last nine years, departure from the team. We are delighted that he has been given a promotion within Natural England where he is now a Senior Specialist in Biodiversity Reporting, working on the BARS project, but we, and I’m sure everyone within the NBN, will miss his expertise, his sunny personality and his way of always looking for the best solution, as positively as possible.
