As confirmed at its last AGM, BRISC (Biological Recording in Scotland) will be wound up and cease to be a charity or membership organisation at the end of 2025.
Whilst this is a sad event, BRISC has achieved a great deal in its 50 years and we hope to bring you a news article later in the year to celebrate its successes.
In the meantime, they will be organising a BioBlitz in September, which they hope will take place all over Scotland. There will be pages set up on iNaturalist and iRecord where all the recording efforts can be shared. More details of this and the exact date will be announced by BRISC very soon.
There is also the hope of BRISC partnering with another biological recording organisation to have an in-person final event in Central Scotland in the Autumn. This will be a last chance for the BRISC community to get together and hear about some of the history of the organisation, share some stories and reflect on the great achievements of a small but impactful organisation.
Keep an eye on the BRISC website for more information on the events mentioned and we will have a BRISC retrospective on the NBN Trust website and in Network News at the end of the year.
