Are you aged 16-25 with an interest in the natural world? Looking to enhance your environmental knowledge and be part of a community of young people with similar interests? We have some good news, as the Field Studies Council Young Darwin Scholarship is back!
Its aim is to create a world where everyone feels connected to the environment so they can enjoy the benefits it gives and make choices that help protect it. Through the Young Darwin Scholarship, Field Studies Council helps get young people outdoors and past some of the barriers they may face.
The Scholarship starts with an in-person experience, either residential or a non-residential day series, at locations across the UK. As a scholar, you’ll also join a dynamic community of like-minded young people, gaining access to exclusive alumni events, ongoing support, and even more discounted learning opportunities. It’s more than a scholarship – it’s your gateway to a lifelong journey of discovery, inspiration, and connection.
The Field Studies Council covers the majority of the costs. Scholars pay roughly 10%, which is £45 – £95 depending on the chosen in-person experience.
Applications are open until 9pm on 16 June 2025.
Full details and how to apply can be found on the Field Studies Council website.
