New look website aims to simplify finding all the information available through the NBN
If you are reading this article then you will have already seen the new look website!
The previous site had been in existence since 2008 and was in need of an update, both in terms of its navigation and also its design.
The new look site aims to bring you the many different pieces of information available through the NBN in a more logical and straightforward way. In turn this should make it much simpler for you to find the information you are looking for.
The following explains in the simplest terms how the navigation works:
• Home – the home page now has four top news stories highlighted, easy access to Share, Access (takes you to the NBN Gateway) and Use data, as well as a direct link to the Interactive Mapping Tool.
• The NBN – information on the NBN, NBN Trust, the staff and membership
• Share Data – tells you everything you need to know about providing data, managing data and sharing it through the NBN Gateway
• Access Data – simply takes you to the NBN Gateway
• Use Data – brings together examples of how the NBN data is being used in practical ways. It also gives you information on how to reference maps and data and make the correct acknowledgements
• Tools & Resources – Information on the various tools and resources available through the NBN including: NBN Web Services, NBN dictionaries, NBN publications, recording resources and business resources
• Forum – share news and views in the NBN forum
• News – Latest news, eNews and Job vacancies
• Contact Us – information on how to get in touch
We do hope you feel that the changes have been made to good effect and that the new site is a more user friendly communication resource.
There will be ongoing work to streamline the information across the site to make it even easier to find what you want and to organise and condense the information wherever possible. So, if you do have any feedback we would be very interested to hear from you. Please contact Mandy Henshall with any comments you may have.
Happy browsing!
