Funding for a ‘project to make projects’

Ecological Citizen(s) is a 4 year project based at the Royal College of Art, in collaboration with the University of York’s Stockholm Environment Institute and Wrexham University. It is a ‘project to make projects’ and as such is looking to fund and support projects that will contribute to the concept of Ecological Citizenship and catalyse positive climate action towards a sustainable, digital, society.

The project grant now being offered is awarded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). It includes three annual rounds of funding, totaling over £750,000 which will be made available to support innovative ideas, research projects and pilots devising new-found ways to engage people with the natural world through technological, contextual, and appropriate means.

The first call for proposals (2023 – 24) is looking to fund projects that focus on Materials & Resources. There is approximately £250k to give to successful projects in this first year, under three different bands of funding-type.
