Through the NBN Awards for Wildlife Recording the National Biodiversity Network Trust recognises significant achievements and celebrates successes in wildlife recording in the UK.
Nominations for the 2026 Awards are now open.
There are seven categories of awards:
- NBN Lifetime Achievement Award
- NBN Verifier’s Award
- NBN Young Person’s Award (open to individuals aged 11-20)
- NBN Newcomer Award
- NBN Award for Marine Wildlife Recording
- NBN Award for Terrestrial Wildlife Recording
- NBN Group Award
Nominating someone for an NBN Award couldn’t be simpler – just answer three or four simple questions online or on our downloadable nomination forms.
Individuals and groups can also nominate themselves!
Nominations are open from 4 February and close on Monday 18 May 2026, and the NBN Award winners will be announced at the NBN Conference in November.
