Join residents of 650+ cities across the world in an epic, global mission: to record as much wildlife as possible.
Take part by making local wildlife records using iNaturalist from Friday 24 April to Monday 27 April 2026.
You don’t have to be a wildlife expert to take part. Just take a picture of any nature that you find and upload it to iNaturalist on those dates. Your recordings can contribute to conservation efforts both locally and globally.

If your city region isn’t competing this year – no worries! If you head to the “Global Project“, you can just click “join” to let them know you’re taking part – this way you can record wildlife from anywhere, and your records will still count!
The City Nature Challenge is organised by Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and the California Academy of Sciences.
