Landscapes can be productive, enriching and nurturing in many ways: not only in goods and services, but also as somewhere to recharge our collective batteries – restorative environments. This event will look at some of the opportunities and issues around making the most sustainable use of land from a variety of perspectives: communities, producers, farmers, businesses, landowners – and of course, our natural heritage. Topics to be explored include local food from local land – the practical issues; challenges for communities managing land they don’t own, including funding; wood fuel, community woodlands, allotments, orchards, and other ‘community growing spaces’.
