Ends:

Medway Valley Countryside Partnership (MVCP) are proud to be working on some Rapid Life projects this year.  One is to remove invasive floating pennywort from the Medway and another is to raise awareness of alert species.

As part of the EU funded Rapid Life project, join the Medway Valley Countryside Partnership and guest speakers at Barham Court, Teston for this invasive non-native species conference.

In the AM, learn about the local small scale Rapid Life project to control invasive Floating Pennywort plants. Learn more about this species generally and the efforts of others to control this species locally in the South East and hear about the potential for biocontrol in the future. In addition, learn from guest speakers about other Rapid Life projects and take the time to network with those in the field.

In the PM, learn from a myriad of professional guest speakers about some of the alert species which threaten our region. What are they and how do you identify and report them? Plus, get up to speed on the importance of biosecurity.

The PM includes refreshments and time to network with professionals in the field of invasive species management. A must for professionals, students and volunteers in an environmental / conservation sector and/or anyone representing water user groups.

Please take care when reserving your ticket(s). Book on to both workshop elements or either the AM or the PM sessions accordingly.

Book via Eventbrite, here.
