Invasive non-native species – best practice guidance

Location:
Scottish Natural Heritage, Battleby
Starts:
Tuesday 9 June 2009,

Invasive non-native species pose a significant threat to biodiversity. Ciria (the Construction Industry Research and Information Association) has recognised this threat and developed a best practice manual on invasive species management for both the construction industry and a wide range of infrastructure managers.

This event will begin with the official Scottish launch of the manual. Following this, a full programme of presentations, case studies and workshops will give up to date guidance on non-native species. This will include methods for preventing the spread of these problem plant and animal species as well as effective control techniques.

The event will be of interest to a wide range of construction industry professionals and infrastructure managers, including the quarrying and extraction industries, transport and utilities managers.

Organisers: Scottish Natural Heritage with Scottish Government and Ciria
Cost: £55
