1. Workshop Focus
UKEOF, in association with the Marine Biological Association, National Biodiversity Network, PEGASEAS and the British Ecological Society Special Interest Groups in Citizen Science and Invasive Species, are holding a workshop on 19th September 2014 at Charles Darwin House, London, on best practice in citizen science, with a focus on invasive non-native species.
This focus has been chosen as it is open and accessible to citizen science, and spans across both marine and terrestrial environments. There is current policy relevance in this area due to the proposed EU Regulation on non-native species.
2. Workshop Aims
The aims of the workshop are to:
•Share knowledge on how citizen science has successfully been used to support the management of invasive non-native species
•Discuss how citizen science could be further utilised for invasive non-native species management
•Examine the data available to support invasive non-native species management, and discuss needs and aspirations for the future.
As places for this workshop are limited, we will confirm your place in August. For further information and to view the agenda please see here
