Members of The Wildlife Information Centre (TWIC) have been invited by the Wild Bannockburn community group to take part in the 2023 Bannockburn BioBlitz. The site was previously recognised as a Local Wildlife Site called ‘Lower Milton’ by the Scottish Wildlife Trust.
TWIC members will record the different wildlife species present, including updating the vascular plant list for the site. The community group are using iNaturalist for recording, so recording using the app is encouraged (but all records are welcome).https://www.facebook.com/WildBannockburn. Meeting details: Meet at 11 am on the north side of the Bannock Burn at the bottom of The Brae – Old Town, Bannockburn, Stirling (OS grid reference NS80779046, what3words: ///loops.highs.areas). Follow this link to google maps for the location of the meeting point. Requirements: Lunch and drink, outdoor footwear, waterproofs/ sunscreen and sunhat (as weather dictates). Optional – antibacterial hand gel and a walking pole or stick (TWIC will have antibacterial hand gel available). Cost: Free. Registration required via Eventbrite.
