The Pearl-bordered Fritillary in the Trossachs – solving an enigma

The Woodland Trust is presenting this online webinar about the fascinating Pearl-bordered Fritillary butterfly – a species thought to be extinct in the Trossachs, though found more widely in the north of Scotland. Nick Cooke, a lifelong lepidopterist and Gwen Raes, Woodland Trust Estate Ranger at Glen Finglas will be running the webinar.

Over the past 15 years, our knowledge of the status of the Pearl-bordered Fritillary butterfly in The Great Trossachs Forest NNR has made huge progress. This talk will explain what has been achieved, why, and how. It will also highlight ways in which future conservation management of key habitat areas can ensure that this beautiful species continues to thrive.
