Join us for this workshop on an introduction to camera trapping.

In this webinar led by Sian Green and organised by The Wildlife Information Centre, you will learn:

  • A brief history of camera traps and how they work
  • How to set up a camera trap and top tips for getting the best footage
  • Camera trap modifications and specialised set ups for particular species
  • What information can we get from camera traps and how can we use it
  • An introduction to MammalWeb and how you can get involved in European mammal monitoring

The workshop will be hosted on Zoom and joining instructions will be sent out prior to the event.

Suitable for: beginners

Duration: 1 hour

Cost: Choose either the free ticket type or the donation ticket type (minimum donation £1). Donations to TWIC will support its work in organising biological recording training workshops and events.

Tutors: Sian Green is a PhD student at Durham University. Sian first learned about the use of camera traps as an undergraduate while studying leopard ecology in South Africa. In her current research, she is working as part of the MammalWeb team, which looks to engage members of the public in camera trapping to study British mammals.
