On the morning of Wednesday 21 November, Professor Adam Hart will give the following keynote talk in the session entitled “Engagement, involvement and facilitation”.

“Monitoring and the Public: A Beautiful Synergy – But Tread Carefully…” – Citizen science provides excellent opportunities for engagement and data collection. But can we trust the data and is all engagement necessarily good?

Adam Hart is Professor of Science Communication at the University of Gloucestershire. He has been involved with UK-wide citizen science projects on flying ants, house spiders, starlings and wasps. A regular broadcaster and commentator in the media, his most recent series for BBC Radio examined the ethics of insect collection.
