The Plankton Project

The Plankton Project (run by Elizabeth Beston) has been collecting monthly and/or weekly plankton data from the Norfolk Coast since autumn 2022 and will continue to do so from Cromer Pier for the foreseeable future. The methodology used to sample plankton in the top 1 m of surface water is repeated weekly, with taxa and environmental conditions noted.

My records for March 2023 to December 2023 were added to the NBN Atlas via the PMNHS. Records since then will need to be added, retrospectively by me, and a continued stream of data will be added regularly from weekly surveys.
