What is it that excites, motivates and inspires Steve to record?

“A lifetimes passion was first instilled in me by my father who made me a moth trap in 1961 or so. Since then work has taken me north to Scotland and south to Wiltshire before settling in Lancashire. On my travels I’ve met, been mentored and inspired by a few lepidopterists whose enthusiasm, knowledge and friendship rubs off on you and keeps the interest going. My passion, the Micro-lepidoptera, particularly the Gelechiidae, can be studied virtually at any time and anywhere and there is still so much to be discovered about distribution, ecology and identification. The close support of my wife Carolyn in all these activities and, in particular, running the Gelechiid Recording Scheme with her has been paramount to maintaining this interest over the long term.”
