Mark Johnston – NBN Award for Terrestrial Wildlife Recording

Mark Johnston is from Tomintoul, Moray/Cairngorms National Park.
What is it that excites, motivates and inspires Mark to record?
“I have recorded wildlife since being at university and in several work and volunteer roles since. As a generalist with a busy job, recording helps me slow down and focus on what I love which is connecting with nature. However, the main driver for my involvement is that records can be used to influence better management of land. The ongoing monitoring of wading birds on Glenlivet Estate is the most obvious example of this.”
