What is it that excites, motivates and inspires Maiya to record?

“For me verification and recording isn’t about being correct or not, but about community engagement. Someone has taken the time to record a sighting they have seen, so being able to verify that is exciting. Sometimes that record, whether it’s my own record or someone else’s, is the only one within that area, which then helps benefit the local management and also fills in their distribution. I also love seeing species from around the country that I don’t get to see near me, and this has helped me become confident at identification, allowing me go on to teach others!”
