Dr John Tweddle – NBN Conference 2025
Dr John Tweddle will be giving a talk on:
“Looking back, looking forward: reflecting on 25 years of partnering with the NBN Trust”
Abstract: The Natural History Museum was a founding member of the NBN Trust. Using examples from collaborative NHM-NBN Trust projects and programmes, I reflect on some of the key challenges and opportunities that the network has risen to meet – and continues to address – as we work together to champion and evidence the UK’s nature.
John is a conservation ecologist at the Natural History Museum (London), where he is Head of the Angela Marmont Centre for UK Nature and Research Theme leader for UK Nature Recovery. He has collaborated with the NBN Trust and wider NBN since the early days of the network.
The Natural History Museum is a leading collections-based research institute and visitor attraction, housing over 80 million specimens and welcoming 6 million visitors per year. The work of its 400 scientists focuses on finding solutions to the planetary emergency.
