Caleb Parkin will be acting as ‘Field Poet’ at the NBN Conference 2024, attending sessions to gather the poetry attendees are already speaking. He’ll also be inviting you to take part in shared poem-making to explore how we learn to speak the ‘love languages’ of species and landscapes we care about. All this will be woven into a poem, presented during the closing session.

Caleb Parkin, Bristol City Poet 2020 – 22, has poems in The Guardian, The Rialto, numerous other journals, and was a guest on BBC Radio 4’s Poetry Please. His debut, This Fruiting Body (Nine Arches, 2021) was longlisted for the Laurel Prize. Mingle, his second collection, is out now. You can order Mingle, “a fizzing meditation on our queer and marvellous intermingled world,” here.

Caleb tutors widely, holds an MSc in Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes, and is a PhD researcher at University of Exeter with RENEW Biodiversity.
