Dr. Ben Rowson will be giving a talk on:

“Non-marine mollusc distribution mapping by the Conchological Society of Great Britain & Ireland: a citizen science project in the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries”

Abstract: This talk will trace the development of the Society’s dataset (available on the NBN Atlas) into the smartphone age, emphasising recent additions and their relevance to conservation.

Dr. Rowson is Honorary Non-marine Recorder, Conchological Society of Great Britain & Ireland / Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales. The Society (est. 1876) runs the Recording Schemes for marine and non-marine molluscs, holds field and indoor meetings, and publishes Mollusc World and the Journal of Conchology.
