Ends:

This short day course gives an insight into the amazing life-cycle of ferns; where they come from, how they spread, how to begin to identify them.

We will spend some time outside looking at the common species of native ferns that grow nearby.

The course is led by Heather McHaffie. Heather has been teaching the fern courses in Scotland for a number of years, and knows the area well. She is a botanist at the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh and is currently engaged in botanical survey work covering a wide range of plant groups.

This course is run by Royal Zoological Society Scotland and Field Studies Council in partnership.

The cost is £40.
