The Mammal Society Autumn Symposium 2016 focuses on how citizen science has transformed conservation approaches for UK wildlife.

Speakers will include Chris Lintott, principal investigator of Zooniverse, the world’s largest platform for people-powered research and Xavier Lambin from the University of Aberdeen explaining how citizen science has helped with mink eradication projects. David Noble from the BTO will be explaining how citizen science has been used to monitor long term population trends in birds, and Peter Evans from the Seawatch Foundation will outline the use of citizen science in marine mammal monitoring.

A range of “Citizen Science snapshot” speakers outlining citizen science projects across the UK will also speak, including the PTES National Dormouse Monitoring Programme and the Red Squirrels United project.
