Hedgehog numbers have seen rapid decline across the UK in recent years, the work of charities such as Prickles and Paws is now more vital than ever to conserve this iconic species. Hedgehogs are a gardener’s best friend and there are lots that you can do in your garden and local area to help hedgehogs. Join us as Co-Founder of Prickles and Paws, Katy South shows us around their wildlife garden, introduces us to some of the rescued current residents and shares their stories.
Prickles and Paws is a hedgehog rescue charity dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of native British Hedgehogs. They admit hedgehogs from across Cornwall and parts of West Devon and work closely with the RSPCA and local vets to provide complete treatment, rehabilitation, care and release to sick, injured and/or orphaned hedgehogs. They also offer a helpline service that is available to the public as well as vets, deliver a wide range of educational workshops and run a research program with a number of Universities.
The FSC is now delivering a series of Natural History Live events. These events are free online natural history talks, comprising of a 30-40 minute talk from a guest speaker, followed by a question and answer session. We host them on Zoom and we will send out joining instructions on the day of the event. Cost: These Natural History Live webinars are made available to all at no cost. If you would like to contribute to the FSC Biodiversity projects, you can do so by selecting the option to attend at a cost of £5. All donated fees go contribute financially to FSC Biodiversity projects work to provide adult learning opportunities for a range of audiences.
