On the morning of Friday 17th November, Dr Mark Eaton will give the following keynote address in the session entitled “Data, data everywhere – sharing and using data across the NBN

“Assessing the state of nature: past, present and future” – This talk will review the progress we have made in reporting upon the state of the UK’s nature, discuss future directions, and highlight the role of biological recording and surveying at the heart of these plans.

Dr Eaton is Principal Conservation Scientist, RSPB Centre for Conservation Science.  He is responsible for much of the RSPB’s involvement in the monitoring of biodiversity in the UK and overseas, and for work synthesising the results of such monitoring in order to assess the health of our avifauna and biodiversity more widely, and, by inference, the wider environment.
