To help develop NBN Atlas to the next level as a world leading data platform and to find new ways to utilise technology to further share data and promote biodiversity.
Core work responsibilities
- Providing guidance and advice to other members of the NBN Secretariat regarding technical issues
- Building technical relationships with partner organisations and the wider development community
- Technical development of the NBN Atlas software platform
Stephen joined the NBN Trust in July 2019 with many years prior experience in software design and implementation. Spending much of his career in freelance consultancy, he has worked on a diverse range of software systems for many global companies including development of secure banking smart cards, consumer digital TV and video products, pre payment electricity meters and many other projects including those with Shell, BP and the RAF Institute of Aviation medicine. He was Chief Technical Officer for a world leading wireless mesh network company, responsible for providing wireless product software infrastructure solutions for Smart Energy and Public Street Lighting monitoring and control.
Stephen lives in London with his wife and two children, on the edge of Epping Forest where he enjoys spending time. He has a keen interest in learning more about biodiversity, particularly in an urban environment.
