Nature of Scotland Awards 2016 – Call for Entries

The Nature of Scotland Awards 2016 are now open for entries!

Celebrating excellence, innovation and outstanding achievement in Scottish nature conservation, nominations are welcomed across eight categories and include two new awards this year:

  • The Corporate Award *NEW
  • Food & Farming *NEW
  • Community Initiative
  • Innovation
  • Nature Tourism
  • Politician of the Year
  • RSPB Species Champion
  • Youth and Education

Last year’s winners included a scheme to assist fishermen to reduce litter in the seas, two separate programmes promoting peatland recovery, a school conservation club and a community trust that work to conserve a local Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Scotland is renowned worldwide for its beautiful landscapes and abundant wildlife, which we all must work hard to preserve. If you know of an organisation, group or individual who has made a unique contribution to Scottish nature conservation, then we want to hear from you.

You can make your nomination, download an entry form and find out more about the awards online. You can also check out all of last year’s finalists and winners.The awards are free to enter and all applications must be submitted online. Deadline for submissions is the 13th June 2016.

Shortlisted entrants will be announced in August. Finalists receive two complimentary spaces at the gala award presentation dinner hosted by BBC Wildlife Presenter, Chris Packham, on the 24th November at Prestonfield House Hotel, Edinburgh.
